Message: Seat belt bolt is the best ground point in our trucks. Very solid, goes directly to the frame and a lot less likely to have corrosion or to work itself loose over time. Also has a lot lower resistance than adding your own bolt or screw, and there's no risk of drilling or putting a screw where it might cause damage to other components. Ring terminals to fit the bolt can be found at good car audio stores or maybe parts stores....

Message: ACTUALLY,,, seat belt bolts are bad ground locations. Why? your relying on the sheet metal body and thin body ground wires to properly ground your audio equipment to the battery. Sure it "might" work, but those thin ground straps aren't designed to carry an additional 20+ amps back to the battery. Plus, whinning, buzzing and other annoying sounds can be induced by ground loops,,, poorly grounded equipment.
It's best practice to ground all the audio equipment to the same location,,, and a location with low resistance back to the battery, normally the frame. BUT, make sure your vehicle has a battery to frame ground as some don't. If no battery to frame ground is present, add a thick frame to battery ground wire.

Message: Also, a good pointer here. I installed an amp in a quad cab and wondered why it wasnt drawing much power. I then realized that the bolts have a coating on them to protect from corrosion (and probably to look pretty, haha). So, just remember to scratch off some of that coating and your connection will be much better....
