 Subject: quad cab bass

ok so i have about had it, need some bass and im finally gonna get some time to do it, heres the question and my idea, was gonna make a center console box, was going to fab the bottom and sides out of mdf, gonna keep the contour of the sides as stock and for the top i was gonna make small support pieces to go inbetween the sides for strength and then lay fiberglass across them to seal the top and keep the stock contour, (how many layers of fiberglass should i use) or should i just save myself the trouble and buy an mtx box?
