Subject: WHAT TO GET? IP: Logged
Message: Ok guys, I have a quad cab and have the large side of the back seat flipped up and just have a pullout box with 2 12's in it. It's really the only option I have if I want serious bass. Right now I have 2 sony xplod 12's pushed by a 760 watt xplod amp. I know this is pretty much bottom line stuff so I want to upgrade a bit. I'm not talking about the top end but somewhere in between. Give me some ideas of some hard bass setups, amp and sub wise please. The setup now has decent bass but I really want to boom. I also need to replace the door speakers but will do that when the infinity's blow. Thanks in advance.

Message: Rip out both back seats and build a wall of around ten or tweleve 15" Kicker L7s, get a second mortagage to pay for amps. Then get a remote volume control and a few spare windshields while your at it ;)

Message: Let's say Jensin's are at the bottom,.. in other words,... one notch. Sony xplod's ....4 notches,... Rockford Fosgates..... 6 notches. and Eclpise.... like 10 notches. There are a ton of sub's out there for sale, but these are some main brands. I have one 10 inch. Rockford Fosgate, and many people have told me that "it" sounds better than a 12 inch Sony Xplod. To me it doesn't matter, but to you it might,.. if i were you, I would get two RFD2112's They are 500 Watt min,. 1000 watt max.. buy two of these and another sony xplod 750 amp and your covered man,.. this system will have almost competition sound, and WILL make car alarms go off. haha Your going to need 2 cubic feet per speaker for a ported box though,.. thats the only downside. I know this system will just blow you outa the water. Later man, i hope this helps.

Message: Whatever will fit on the large side in the back of my quad. I have the seat raised. If I need the whole back I just take the speaker box out. I wanna stay with two 12's. Money really doesn't matter, just want some subs that will take a pounding. I think I might go with the rockfords.

Message: I have a 85 volvo 740 GLE. Looks good and right now I have two 10inch planet audio subwoofers and a 4 channel 800w sony xplod amp. Problem is when I drive the subwoofers loose power randomly while im drivin. Do I need to adjust the gain or what? Also I wanted someones opinion on my upgrade. Should I go with the two J.L. 12s and a two channel 1000 watt sony xplod amp and two sony xplod 6x9s for the back seat. Or should I get a different amp all together. Please help...

Message: No no no, eclipse would not be notch 10, maybe in the HU dept
they are, but not subwoofer wise.
This has been my hobbie for a long time, and guess what, all the
big brand name companies... suck.. compared to the list of
companies I am gonig to list here.
QUADMAN: Go to www.caraudioforum.com, and search for the
companies I am gonig to list, and ask you question on that
forum... you will get way more knowledge from there, alot of
people know what they are talking about.
Soem brands to look for:
Image Dynamics
Resonant Engineering
Adire Audio
Elemental Designs
Acoustic Elegance <---- I just bought 2 AV12's, 150 each, and
John, the owner who I have talked to, builds these suckers by
hand, 23mm xmax one way, for the price, its the best damn sub
out there
Elemental Designs
etc etc.. talk to me for more specifics... please just dont get
anything you will find at car toys etc... you will end up paying 3
times as much, easy, for the name and get less than half of what
you could with other companies...
Let me know if you interested in what I have to say... I'm just
trying to help you from going down the wrong road, like I have
before.

Message: Of course man, all those are great... i was just giving him a quick
list... haha
The only good big name brand is JL.. However, the price for their
products should be cut in half to be thought about imo...
