Subject: infinity amp?

i have a 2000 cc with infinity sound and i blew the lr speaker, so i bought a new pair of jl audio 6 1/2" speakers for the rear but the guy told me since i have infinity that i have to bypass the amp for the rear speakers. were do i find the amp at? he said it was behind the glove box but there is nothing back there that looks like an amp. please help me.

might be too late to chime in here, but if you're just replacing the stock speaker with something else, you really do not need to bypass that amp. I have a 2000 QC with the infinity upgrade. Passenger side lower speaker blew, so replaced the front pair, and it sounded just fine. in fact, it sounded better then the stock infinity speakers that were there, so much better that I went ahead and replaced the 2 rear speakers. didn't touch the head unit or the amp and everything sounds great...
