Subject: Enclosure question IP: Logged
Message: I'm building a sub enclosure for under the rear seat of my '03 Dakota CC R/T. I plan to install 2 10" subs and I'm wondering if I should install a divider and keep them in their own space or have them share the total volume of the enclosure .

Message: If your running them off a bridged amp you can leave it as one common air space since the subs are going to be sharing the power and each will consume equal amounts of power. If your running it off a stereo (2) channel amp, put in the divider since one channel might put out a different signal or a different amount of power, in this scenerio the subs would be fighting each other. If in doubt, put in the divider.

Message: -You should run both subs off of a mono channel either way. But check out the manufacture's enclosure suggestions, often found online. Try to get the internal volume as close to recommended as possible for each sub. The divider will make each sub have a smaller enclosure.
Good Luck.
