 Subject: no sound through cd player

i installed an alpine cd player into my 97 cc and i am not getting any sound through the cd player except through my sub, however the radio plays fine. do i need to bypass the factory amp?

No, you don't need to bypass the amp. the problem is that you connected the wrong blue wire from the Alpine. The solid blue wire is "power antenna" and only turns on in AM/FM mode. The blue wire with white stripe is the remote turn on, and is the one you need to use.
