Subject: Ported Subs. IP: Logged
Message: hello, I have a 2000 reg cab Dak. right now i've got infinity speakers. a 12in alpine sub. hooked into a 1200 watt audiobahn amp. The amp is behind the drivers side and the sub is behind the passangers seat. I need a bigger sub for my amp. mabye a JL or a Kicker. I don't really want to put them in the bed of the truck but i can't fit a bigger box behind the passangers seat. I've heard you can get them ported in the cab. has anyone done this? whats the cost, and hows it sound?

Message: What they probably meant by porting them is to cut the bed and cab and build a blow through box. It's not cheap either. You could take out your center console and have a box built and put 2 10s in there, thats what i did, the box only cost me $100

Message: Horrible idea and ruins the resale value of your truck, and
especially for your 1200 watt "max" audiobahn amp, aka 600 watts
rms probably, its not even worth it.
