 Subject: BEST TWEETER LOCATION

Hey audiophiles, what results have you come up with in
determining the optimum tweeter location. Obviously, we are
looking for the best sound staging. Tweeters differ I know, but
let's hear all your experiences, especially those with regular cabs.
There is the panel behind you where the seat belt is mounted,
there's also the door, and the dash seems like it would be hard to
get to. I suppose there is a stock tweeter location but my truck did
not have that audio package.. I will be mounting cadence silk
domes BTW

upon further reading, it seems the stock location in the upper door is preferred by many. anyone care to comment on this or compare it to the pillar above the seat belt mount?

Tweeters usually need to be toned down anyway no matter where you put them. Some external xovers will do this. If you put them by the seatbelt then more than likley they will be way overpowering. If you simply turn down the Hi;s on your head unit then you will be compremising soung quality.. as far as where to put them they will be fine anywhere higher than your head unit facing passenger to driver and driver to passenger

Try high up on the windshield pillars thats where I put my theeters (Boston acoustic)and the sound grate.

The best sounding systems for SQ that I've heard (_definitely_ IMHO), have the tweets/mids in the dash, reflecting off the windshield. Keeping the tweets and high-mids close together is a good thing as far as imaging is concerned.
Now,,, reality usually dictates another placement, such as the door panels, sail panels, kick panels or the pillars, but your question was around optimum placement.

Use tape and apply the tweeters in as many positions as you can
think of until you find a spot you desire, and then install it there.
