Subject: Alpine unit cuts off IP: Logged
Message: Hello...
My stepson's Alpine car stereo is seemingly posessed these days. When he reaches 20-21 on the volume button, the radio just shuts off. This particular unit has separate RCA outs to a subwoofer and/or speakers. He has the subwoofer being powered by an amp, but the speakers are running off the Alpine internal amp. What may be causing the unit to shut down at a certain volume?
Thanks for your help, folks,
David

Message: Is he running the proper impedance speakers. If he's got multiple speakers hooked up to one set of + & - the impedance changes and the unit may not be stable at that load, causing the unit to overheat and shut down.
