Message: Home Depot.
What kind of box, what size requirements does the sub have, do you want sealed, ported, bandpass, what size restraints do you have, if any.

Message: Home Depot carries MDF, screws, tools you could use to build a box. :)
I'd probably recommend a small sealed box but it all depends on the characteristics of the sub and the sound it produces in your particular vehicle.

Message: i want to build my own... but i want to do it right. because i am taking on of the seats out of my 1994 explorer, to place this sub, it doesnt give much room for anything else than a sealed box. i would have prefered a ported, but its not going to be possible. anyways... i havent decided what kind of wood to use yet... but the the sub is going to be slanted like this |__\ i dont know if that really helps... but thats what i think i want to do. i also read that u need to get dynamat to use on the inside of the box for better sound quality... i found a website that will help determine the right size box for me once i get the sub in and determine the numbers from there...

If you live anywhere near me, you can have the box that is in the pics in that thread. I didn't want the box in the seating area so I built two and put them behind the rear seats.
MDF is the only way to go for building a box. You can run into problems using plywood or solid wood. I haven't used dynamat in a box but have used polyfil - makes the box sound like it's bigger.

Message: i found out my only options i have for my certain circumstances at the moment. because i cant use the back (behind the rear seats) the sub has to be placed behind my seat. my seat is at a 25 degree angle and so i am going to have to make the back of the box at 25 to be parallel... then im going to make it the right width and length and hight. the sub is going to be vertical to the floor, facing away. i still have to take out one of the seats... which isnt a problem... but that is my only option. i have 4 heavy duty hasps (2 that are 7 in and 2 that are 4 1/2) and then i have 4 hardened brinks locks to go through that. its pure steal so no one will be able to break it. and im going to have to bolt that down to the ground to prevent theft. i got my last subs stolen. i had 2 JL 12w3 with a 1000watt amp. it all got stolen. so im going to try my best to prevent that this time.
