I have a 99 rc r/t that I want to put a sub in. I'm not sure if the 12" will fit behind passenger seat or not. Which would be better for SPL and which is better for SQ. I was thinking of doing a kicker solo-baric or maybe a jl w6 or w7. Anyone have any suggestions as to what would be best.

The absolute best would be the W7...but that is a sh*t load of
money to be spend on a sound system

I have a W6 version 2 12" sub in my truck that bumps pretty
damn good for just one 12... i also payed $290 for it
it's equiped with a 600 RMS watt $350 Diamond Audio amp

my two cents.

What would be best is for you to invest in a pair of headphones so you can have it as loud as you want and not bother anyone.

earplug you sound very, very old. let us youngins have some fun while we still can. Besides, I don't blast my system in neighborhoods(never) or parking lots(well, maybe just a lil bit at the malls), just on more wide open areas like freeways and such.

there are subs that are on par, or better, for half price ( not
ebayed prices...) too bad most people only hear about
companies like mtx and jl and infinity etc etc... to find out their
are all entry leven stuff, nothing special... imo, jl is actually
damn good stuff, just absolutely overpriced...

I just payed only 150 for each 12 AE subwoofer i just installed in
1.2cf sealed enclosure each in my dak... 150 bucks.. and it has
23mm xmax.. same as a dang IdMax...my mirror falls off
whenever I actually turn it up to a certain point

Also have some ID Chameleons components... dang good sq
stuff all around that can get loud.

So Ryan... do you really care, if so i can list you some subs that u
probably never heard of that are way more respected than
anything you would see in a car toys.. if not.. just ignore me, I
just hate seeing people shell out all their $$$ for stuff they
coulda spent it better on

I just want to know what would work better in my 99 rc r/t. I know that jl is good and they are out of my price range I guess but kickers are closer to my range, just not sure if that stuff will fit. So, yeah cj, if you got some good stuff you can list then I'm interested. Just let me know. Thanks, Ryan

Check out some Digital Designs stuff (mostly spl.. built like
tanks) Adire Audio, Resonant Engineering ( they are in the
process of revamping their whole line up however) , Image
Dynamics, etc just to start.

Most of these are spl subwoofers when designed in the correct
enclosure, as in they geet loud, and sound good while doing it.
However, they all make a lot of different subs, so some are
"better" than others...

I just put 2 AE (Acoustic Elegance) AV12's behind my seat in a
sealed box, 23mm of xmax.. wow, my mirror has fallen off
twice.. and the SQ of these subwoofers are damn amazing

The owner of AE, John, is a amazing guy, and as of now hand
builds these suckers.. yes, hand assembles and builds (other
than the motor and surround of course)

Ask him if he has any AV12's, his sn is stryke23x

Your gonna need an amp that does 1000 plus rms watts (for a
pair) or 500 -700 (depending on enclosure type) watts rms for a
single (which a single would do great in a RC

Kicker makes DECENT stuff.. sounds like ass, but they can get
loud, but SQ is deffinetly lacking

caraudioforum.com, and search for the AV12, youll see that that
sub is this years best bang for your buck by FAR

I went to a local audio shop where a friend works and he was showing me some OZ and Cadence subs that were pretty nice. Does anyone know anything about these or if anyone has some let me know how they sound and if they really like them.
