Subject: Pioneer head unit wiring ? IP: Logged
Message: I've got a Pioneer DEHP7700MP that I'm going to install in my '01 CC with Infinity package. I've got the Scosche wiring harness to plug into the stock connector. The Pioneer deck has an Orange/White wire marked To Lighting Switch Terminal and the Scosche connector has only an Orange wire marked Illumination/Dimmer in the third hole right next to the Ignition B+ wire with an empty hole next to it that I believe a Metra harness has an Orange/White wire mounted in. I know the Pioneer has the ability to dim when you turn the headlights on like the stock radio does. I want this to do the same. My question is for anyone who's used the Scosche harness for such an install. Is the wire in the Scosche connector the one I want to use to just dim with the headlights, or is it the variable voltage feed from the dash dimmer switch. I sure hope somebody knows what the heck I'm talking about, cuz after re-reading what I just wrote, I'm not too sure. :)
And yes I do plan to redo the whole system as time and money allows. Just gots to get a start somewhere.
