I bought a MTX audio custom fit stereo box for my 98 club cab dakota that fits under the rear jump seat. I also bought a 12" by 12" 1000 watt AMP! I am clueless on where to put the AMP. Any sugestions. Thanks

Thats 1000 watt max isnt it? Dont go by that number, it doesnt
really mean anything, its figurative.. Where does it say the rms
wattage? Considering its size, and mine is about that size, i placed
it under my drivers seat.. however it has to be pretty short in hieght
to be able to do so, which you have not listed...

my jbl is mounted upside down under my seat between the seat bottom and the tracks. its the only way it would fit. the seat is a little stiffer since the foam doesnt drop as far but the foam was worn out and not supportive enough so it actually fixed the problem. the mounting tabs are what holds it between the seat slider assembly and the seat itself. and no the mounting tabs will never bend or break in that position they are fine like that they dont really have my weight on them. its hard to describe but when the seat slides so does that amp and all the wiring moves with it.

Yeah, under the driver or passanger seat, slide it up in there, if it fits your OK. You need some room for air movement too or you'll overheat and cook the amp. I think 12x12 is going to be a tight squeeze, might not fit.

yeah it can be tuff to get it up there if its not just the right size, but i think the air circualtion is actually better this way for my application. but even so that amp never even gets warm
