Subject: amp overheated? IP: Logged
Message: i have an audiobahn 600 rms 4-channel amp running to my 6.5" and 5.25" speakers. those are all aftermarket audiobahn speakers. i have a reg. cab so the amp is mounted under the passenger seat and sometimes it can get real hot. it is supposed to shut itself off before it gets too hot and then turn back on once it cools down. well the other day it got hot enough that it shut off for about 30 seconds and then came back on. i noticed the right front speaker was coming on and off. after that the right front wasn't working at all. now, a few days later, the only speaker that works is my left front. i've tried taking each speaker out and checking the connections, they're all good. i've looked at the amp and all the rca plugs are still in. i even took out the head unit and made sure everything behind there was still connected and it all looked fine. is it possible that my speakers stopped working because the amp overheated?

Message: More than likely your amp overheated and some of the copper traces on the pc board of the amp may have got too hot and melted.
