Subject: How do you all do this? IP: Logged
Message: I plan on getting a pair of AV12's (12 inches) into a sealed box,
so the net volume may be around 3cf for the whole volume for
both..
It is just going to sit on my back rear jumper seat, its a 99 Club
Cab..
Here's my question: How do you guys get a box that is 3cf into
the back?? I can barely remove my single 1.3cfr sealed box I
have in there right now...
I hope I dotn have to remove one of my seats to get them in
there????

Message: Yeah, your going to have to remove a seat, it's not that tough.
You also need to figure out a way to anchor the box to the truck or seat belts. You dont want a 100# sub box flying at you if you get into an accident.

Message: Unbolt the front seat(s),,, there's 4 bolts on each seat, it you have the 20% middle seat they are probably connected together so you will need to remove the whole front seat, a fun job since the seat is like a wet noodle once it's unbolted.

Haha what do you mean by that? And yes, I have the 40-20-40
middle seat/console deal.
I know how to unbolt the seats, just 4 bolts ber seat... but I was
actually asking if you had any ideas on how to secure the box to
the seatbelt bolt or anything, or a string style system, i dono.. Any
ideas?
Thanks

Message: You use insulation in your box. Insulation slows the speed at which sound travels, effectively fooling the speaker into thinking it's in a bigger box.

Message: If it's just going to lay on the seat...why not just figure out how to seatbelt it in? My friend gave me a cool idea on how to do mine which sits where my 20 portion of my 40/20/40 split bench used to be. Use a couple really large zip ties and ziptie the bottom legs (since mine is downfiring I got 2" legs on it)to the seat frame.

Message: I dont know that i would want to trust zip ties in a hard accident. Id stick with bolts or screws.
