a question from the uninformed. what are component speakers, and if comparable what is the difference between them and 3-ways? and should they be amped?

components are when the speaker and tweeters are seperate from each other. you can install the speaker in it's location, then run tweets to wherever you want them. 3-ways are speakers with 2 tweeters on them. i've got 2-ways and like them, but i plan on getting components eventually because it just sounds way better IMO. i would get components if i were you. and yes, they can be amped and it will help in some cases. sometimes amping isn't always necessary. good luck.
