Subject: CD stuck in player
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 2004 Dakota with a model RBK in-dash CD player. I put a CD into the player, unfortunatley the disk was bad and the player gave the Err code on the display. No big deal but now the CD will not eject.

Does anyone know how to ge the CD out of the player?

BTW, I did try the eject button. It doesn't work :^(

Thanks in adavance for any helpful hints.

Karl

The CD that got stuck is a CD-R but it has a painted label. There are no stickers on it.

BTW, I finally fiddled with it enough to get the CD out but I am NEVER going to put that one in again. I have tried other CD-R's and they work fine.

See if you have a reset button hidden somewhere on the head unit. Sometimes they are on the front but most of the time they are hiddin in the rear of the unit. You will see a little dimple that you have to push with an ink pen. This will usually erase the code and eject the CD. Hope this helps as it has happened to me a few times over the years :)
