You get what you pay for, $160 worth of low quality equipment, but it's probably going to be loud.

"i am also currently building a custom encloseure to replace my center seat and am having difficulty on space....there is 9 1/2" between the seats and i figured i needed atleast 14" width ....do i need that much width?"

How are you going to put a 12" sub in a 9 1/2" space? Unless you put it in there sideways, but that would be really F'ed up. Most people go with a 10 or 8's for this application.

"i also have about 12" of depth and 31" in
length..is this enough air space for it to sound good?"

Don't know the spec's of your sub, look at the spec sheet and figure out the volume of your enclosure, should be somewhere between 1 and 2 cuft for a 12" sub.

"i also need help as to how and where and how often to port it"

Again, look at the spec sheet that came with the sub for porting specs. Port dimensions and the air volume of the enclosure is critical in a ported enclosure and different subs will use different ported boxes. Go with a sealed box if you can't get the box dimensions exact.

Now you know why no one answered.............

See, answering this question is sort of like telling a kid he doesn't have enough $$$ for the candy bar.

Your 160$ of stereo is probaly worth less then one peice of most people's aftermarket stereo's.

I do applaud your desire to create an enclosure, thats above and beyond most people in there cars.

As for the 9 1/2 inch and needing 14' well.. Your not gonna fit a 12. Sorry, unless you end up building something insane, it won't work. Put in two 8"'s, and it'll be good.

well, i now it is kinda the cheap route.....i priced the things new (or on ebay) and the cheapest i could find the sub was like 95.00 and the amp(or atleast one similar...same wattage and brand) was like 189.00, so that is a little better i guess. about the enclosure..what i did is kinda hard to explain with words but ill try.
the box goes up the back wall about 18" then out about4" (at 9 1/2"W)then i angled two pieces of both sides 2 1/4" each to create kind of a trapizoid shape, this gave me 14" to put the 12" speaker in....its at a 45 degree angle....at the bottom of the speaker area (14"x14" square") i continued the angle down to 12"....from there i went straight towards the dash to the 31" mark...at this point i just 45ed it down to the floor under the dash. thats the best way i can explain it till i get pics. the amp will be mounted under the seat
