Subject: Aftermarket CD player stolen! IP: Logged
Message: I just got my DUAL motorized unit stolen and want to throw in a stock cd player from a 2003 into my 2000. The jacks in the back are different, but suposidly they are compatible. Anyone know about this or have done this before?

Message: Well whoever stole that thing did you a favor. Was it the black one with blue lights or the grey one with red? Not that it makes a quality difference or anything but just curious. I work at Best Buy selling car audio and the people that buy those things crack me up. Do yourself a favor and buy something a little better next time (Alpine, Pioneer, etc.). It might not be as flashy but it'll sound a lot better.
In regards to your question, the plug for any aftermarket system is gonna be different than the factory. However, if the thing was installed right the first time (with a wiring harness) then you can unplug that harness and have your factory plug back. All you do then is match the plugs and slide it in, after removing the dash kit of course.
