 Subject: 05 remove dash

anyone pull out the entire dash on an 05? looking to get to the amp that is supposed to be behind the "kick board". I started on the passanger side and removed a bunch of screws --> all the way over to the middle where I popped out the radio unit from. Do I need to keep going all the way over to driverside? Is this all one cohesive unit? Are there snap clips I need to worry about? Anyone have any 1st hand knowledge?

Uh, you don't have to remove any of the dash to get the amp out. The kickpanel is on the passenger side, right in front of the door on the floor of the truck.

found the kick panel and removed it. looks like there is a metal bracket holding the amp in place up against the sidewall. guess i have to mess around with that to get the amp out of the wiring mix.

pulled out the floor board (thanks for pointing out correct location). can't seem to locate amp. found the ant wire going out of the truck to actual exterier ant - also found wire bundle going into door - but no amp? Beginning to think i'm going nuts... i looked under rug & up behind where glove box is. where should i be looking? maybe time to bring to the pros but i just hate to think about that option...

do you have the factory Infinity system? if you don't you won't have an amp.

i assume so... from what i understand it is standard in an 05 dakota. maybe not... should i just proceed to hooking up the radio and see what happens?

No. the Infinity is optional. If you have the infinity, the front doors will have tweeters on them, with "Infinity" logos.
