Message: Your amp needs to have a high/speaker level input, so you would plug your decks speaker wires directly to the input of your amp. You would not use the RCA inputs.
or
Get a high to low lever converter, costs about $30 and they are available at most stereo stores. You would hook your speaker wires to it then connect rca cables from the convertor to your amp (plus a few other simple connections). This would yield you the better sound quality.

Message: The convertor will have a +, -, and remote wire input. You just need to tap into an ignition wire on your truck.

Message: Brandan
Does your deck have RCA jacks on the back of it?? If so, use them to hook up the deck to the amp. And use the Remote turn on wire from the deck to turn the amp on. Also, lose the caps lock.

Message: The amp is what seperates the channels out, not the RCA jacks on the head unit. If you buy a 4 channel amplifier and hook up the RCA jacks, it will seperate the channels for you. You will just have to tune fade and balance with the amp, not the head unit.

Message: Take your truck to a stereo shop and have them hook it up. Just from the way your experience level sounds, if you do get the amp hooked up, you will never get it adjusted properly to even sound good.

Message: If I were you guys, I would ALWAYS use a high level step down to hook up an amp. It will make it real easy to swap out your head unit to an aftermarket if you decide to do so....just unhook the factory deck and step down, and plug your RCAs into your new deck.
I have one made by PIE that I use to use a few years ago and worked great. I didn't have any remote leads, but I just ran my amps off ACC. Here's the link if you are interested, but there are many others.
http://www.pie.net/sec11sb1.htm I have the 4 channel model shown in the link, worked great!
Hey, I'm just sayin'.

Message: i don't know how pyramid compares to PIE in regards to this one part, but i know PIE would have the better reputation as far as quality goes. i hear alot of people knock pyramid, probably because there super low end stuff is sold at every pawn shop below I-10, but i gotta tell ya, if you are looking for LOUD for dirt cheap, it's hard to beat pyramid. they may not be the cleanest sounding speakers/amps, but you can buy a lot more bang-for-buck when it comes to pyramid.
anyway, to get back on track, i don't see the problem with buying a pyramid line converter. when you think about it, neither the PIE or pyramid converters are going to produce a signal cleaner than a good deck, but it's doubtful that the difference will be audible.

Message: ok cool. im getting a deck soon anyways. and another question is that i have a pyramid 600watt amp and it hits real hard but im thinking of getting the 1600watt one. it costs $169.00. should i go for it or no.?

Message: i say go for it. i personally think pyramid is great for SPL. now of course it's doubtful that someone seeking SQ will ever mutter the words "i'm thinking about getting the 1600W pyramid", but who cares. if the 600W sounds good to you and you want the 1600W, then go for it. hell, i even ran a jensen one time, because it was only $30 at a pawn shop and it pushed a couple of crappy old MTX Blue Thunders like no other.
do it to it man.

Buy cheap and you get cheap..
Especially if you are going to run the amps to some subs...
