Subject: Front speakers quit after 5 minutes IP: Logged
Message: I've got an '00 QC with the stock infinity system and about two days ago the front speakers quit working after about 5 minutes on my drive to work. At lunch they worked fine. On the drive home, 5 minutes and they're gone again. After some more driving, it seems like they will quit after about 5-20 minutes but if I shut the truck off and let it sit for a half hour they work again. I pulled the head unit and all the connections look fine. Beyond that, I don't know much about troubleshooting this kind of thing. Any ideas?

Message: I would say it must be the head unit because the speakers do or don't work they aren't really intermittent, I would check to see if the head unit is overheating? Maybe its time for a new one.

Message: Thanks for the suggestions. After a hard right turn I heard a loud thud in the driver's side door and things worked flawlessly for about two weeks but it cut out again today. I think I'll pull the door panel and see if there is a loose connection or something. I've already read some posts regarding how to get the panel off. Anything else to look for while I'm in there? (Besides whatever made the thud ;-)
