Subject: Anyone tried the KAPPA 60.7cs speakers? IP: Logged
Message: I've read just about all the threads here on the issues presented by the Infinity "premium" system, and I think I know just enough to get myself in real trouble. Well, I just found out that all the Infinity .7 series speakers are 2 ohms. Great right? Well, Crutchfield says they don't fit the front doors, but do fit the back. I did not understand the explanation very well, but something about them protruding too much. Anyone tried them yet? I was thinking if the issue is the front of them contacting the inside of the door panel, why couldn't I use longer screws with some small spacers?
I bought some anyway, as the thought of 2 ohm replacements seemed too good to pass up. I will try to replace that amp soon too so I can use the crossovers, but that job is way over my head at this point.

Message: Well, I got the driver's side done tonight. Took me a while, as I did not buy any wire adapters, and I had a tough time with those little clip deals. The speakers fit fine as far as I can tell, and they sound great. I will do the passenger side next week(I have to be out of town tomorrow through the weekend), then look into replacing the amp and installing the crossovers.
