Subject: Replace just the head unit. IP: Logged
Message: Hi Everyone,
I'm looking to replace just the radio in my Dak with something that'll play mp3 disks I can burn. I'm thinking about the Alpine CDE-9845 or 9847. Will replacing just the radio still work okay with the factory Infinity system? I know the stock amp and speakers aren't the greatest, but they've been okay for my ears so far.

Message: splice all the wires correctly and it won't be a problem. should work fine. you can also just buy an adapter from walmart for about $10 and not worry about splicing, just plug and play. don't forget the antenna adapter also. post up if you need any help installing.

Message: I had my stereo stolen from my 2001 dakota club cab. I am now having someone install a new radio in my dakota but we ran into a problem, all the wiring was fixed and radio installed but there is no sound. Could there be something wrong with the wiring for the speakers? what should be done to fix that? there are the 2 speakers in the back, the speakers on the door and the little infinity ones on the top corners from the door.
PLease help someone , my commute to work is getting very boring:O)

Message: Make sure the blue wire is connected between the factory harness and the new head unit, it's the remote turn on for the factory amp.
