Subject: new head unit wiring problems
IP: Logged

Message:
just got a brand new panasonic head unit. wired it in today. powered up great, had four extra power type wires not plugged in to anything, and so of course i got no sound when i spliced the speakers in. story of my life, right? the previous owner had wired in some 10" MTX subs in a custom box, and for some reason decided to just splice them into the back two speaker wires instead of getting a new head unit with a separate input. i wired it all in, but the only speakers working are the subs, which naturally sounds like sht by themselves. i read on another post that there is some blue remote turn on wire that does something important for the speakers. what should that be spliced into? the only thing i can think of would be the external power wire, which i had spliced into the blue amp power cord that the previous guy had wired into the ACC.
