Subject: Console Sub Box? IP: Logged
Message: Does anyone have a center console sub box? If so what do you have in it? Is it possible to fit two 10's, a 12, two 8's, what am I capable of doing with this situation.
I have a box under my rear seats but its not what i want so I will be putting the tool tray back in. Let me know please. Pictures would be great or dimensions. Thanks, I have a 99 sport CC by the way.

Message: Hey,
I just built a really cool console box. I dont know if your interested in some pics. I worked and putting one ten inch sub was pushing it. Im sure if you spent enough time you could get 2 tens or maybe one 12 in but it would take a lot of time.
I also build sub boxes for under the rear seats. Its pretty cool i have pics of that to. both boxes are ultra stealth and can allow you to have your seats in the down position. hit me back when you get this .

Message: DSW, that center box is unreal and same with the rear. If I could work with fiberglass I would but money is the issue. I've tried and I know it get's expensive. Does anyone know of anyways to make a solely would center box? Let's say to fit two 10's, I know thats a stretch. Also CrazyRide, send me some pics at funnel30@hotmail.com, if anyone else has pictures or dimensions for a box please send them my way. Thanks

Message: Fiberglassing isn't that hard and isn't too expensive. The CC 10" sub boxes were the first time I worked with fiberglass and the QC 12" sub box was the second.
If you get the supplies at a fiberglass repair shop the supplies are pretty cheap. On the CC boxes I made the mistake of getting the supplies at Home Depot and Auto Zone, cost me out the azz for supplies. On the QC sub box I spent about $50 at a boat repair/fiberglass shop for resin/hardener and 1oz, 2oz and 3oz fiberglass cloth. I used twice as many supplies on the QC box, but it cost less than 1/2 of the CC boxes,,, buy your stuff at a fiberglass repair shop or boat shop...

Message: Yeh, Fiberglassing is pretty easy, I would reccomend going to west marine for polyester resign. I would also reccomend that you go to a local plastics/fiberglass place. Be careful though, sometimes they can be more expensive. My local one sells their cheapest polyester resign for like 47 and the west marine boat shop is like 22 bucks. Email me if you have questions i have a lot of experience. jschaap@unr.nevada.edu

Message: Sounds like that plactic/fiberglass shop was a rip off. The fiberglass shop I went to had both the resin and hardener for $25, Home Depot was about $30. West Marine and Boaters World have a good selection since they have both cloth and mat on big spools, they only thing is they don't have the real heavy mat.
OOps, made a mistake in my other post, I said cloth and meant mat. Why do I point this out? Fiberglass mat is much stronger than fiberglass cloth, you should try to use as much mat a possible.
