Subject: My Quad Cab Setup IP: Logged
Message: Finally got bass in my 04 Quad cab.
HeadUnit - Eclipse CD3434 $229 at local shop,
Amp - Alpine mrp-m350 $139 At Circuit City installed under front passanger seat
Now the tough part...
Custom box for 1 10" sub modified for 6" mounting depth from Soundoffaudio.com (they sell them in pairs I choose to only get one for cargo space reasons) This box is made to fit behind the rear seat similar to the thunderform setup. I was very concered after receiving the box about it fitting, but thankfully with a little elbow grease it ended up fitting perfectly. I would reccoment this setup for anyone trying to conserve cargo space and do a stealth install.
Lastly the sub...
I initially had a 10 inch Infinity Kappa perfect $150 installed from crutchfield, but was not inpressed so I swapped it out for an MB quart PWE 254 also $150 from crutchfield and am very happy. For 1 - 10" I am very impressed and would reccomend a similar setup to anyone
everything in the doors is factory at the moment and is next on my list, any suggestions?

Message: Wow. Must not be a very deep subs. My RF P2 10" would not fit in a box that shallow.
I had to move my rear seats forward 1.5" to get clearance.
Great find though. Many ppl don't want to tear into their truck like I do to mine.

Message: hey i ordered two boxes from them and i now have two tens in my QC. I have two infinity reference subs and they &ucken hit hard. I have an audiobahn A4002t amp and i have it briged down to 2 ohms. i think you werent sending enough power to the infinity. im sending about 300 watts to each sub and they hit good. i think that the infinity kappas handle like 350 or 400 watts rms. the little alpine doesnt make enough power to feed that sub.

Message: So how do those boxes fit back behind the quad cab seats? Is there any modifications done to anything or can you just pull the seat out, install the box and put the seat back? I see they are $109 for 2, I may email and see if they will only sell one.
034x4qc4.7 did both boxes fit perfectly back there...maybe I will order two boxes...that would sound really good. I have the mtx thunderform back there right now and am not impressed with it.

Message: I shouldn't say I was not impressed with the Infinity Kappa I was just more impressed with the MB Quart in comparison for the same price. I would still reccomend the Infinity I just liked the Quart better

Message: I used to have an 10" kicker sub resting on the rear floor, it had great bass but it was taking up too much space when I had passengers...
so I replaced it with the MTX that fits behind the rear seat. after placing the sub, before reinstalling the seat, it sounded great, but I was disappointed when everything was finished... The sub fits tight against the seaback-cushion and it sounds a bit "muffled". It's not horrible but I am tempted to leave the seatback unbolted, so it can be lifted out for better bass, and it would slide back into the bracket when necessary.
I suppose that holds true for all behind-the-seat wedge boxes. Just leave the seatback unbolted!

Message: My set-up is this: Kenwood Excelon H/U, MTX Amps, Diamond Audio 6.5"s in the front door, tweets up top, rear doors stock, custom box built to house 2 10"s, it's one box, stretches from one side to the other, with a notch cut out in the center to clear the seat bracket. removed the carpet from the floor, and the lining from the back wall. Don't remember what the dimensions were, and at one time I took pics and emailed them to several people here on the forum, don't have pics any more, but I was experiencing the muffled sound with the Orion Xtant subs, so I pulled the seat backs, took a 3lb ledge hammer to the 1.25 bar toward the bottom of the back of the seat and bent it in across where the subs were.. end of the muffle sound!

Message: you mention using a bit of elbow greese to get it to fit, what snags did you run into? Also which side did you mount the box behind. I want to do the same thing behind the driver side so I have room on the passenger side for cargo...
