Message: Depends on which 15" sub you get. 1300 watts may not move the sub, 1300 may blow the sub. It also depends on how big the box is.
It all depends on what you get.

That will hit so hard that your balls will slap you in the face every time the subs hit the lows.

Message: My one 8" Kicker S8L7 has more round bass than some Dual 15" subs. It's all about how well the subs are made, and how they're wired up. It makes me shake my head when I hear someone trying to impress me by sdaying their "awesome" subs blew their amp...those people are actually dissing themselves. No one should blow an amp if it's wired correctly.

Message: Alec, no offense to the solo, but they are NOT some of the better subs out there. Don't get me wrong, they pound, but sound like crap.
The guy that made this post obviously has no clue what he is talking about.
Go buy some Pyles and leave.

Message: Ok Dude, in most cases yer only gonna get what you paid for. When you get the 15, check the specs and look for the recommended enclosure volume. It may say "recommended" but I strongely "recommend" that you build your box based on that. Don't go bandpass and don't go buy mtx or q-logics boxes. their specs probably won't match your sub. Now here's where I tell you what to buy. *** Go get the JL 15w3 (or if you got a lotta money) JL 15w6 sub. When gettin the amp. Make sure you have the ohms stability you need. JL is very well known for low RMS and Nearly Unpeakable Power. One JL 15 and 600 watts will sterilize you. Don't bother too much with the w0 models. Have fun.

Message: Not too mention 1300 watts to a sub that can only displace so much air don't mean it will be louder than another good sub with 600 watts.
Also. Different vehicles and set ups will vary drastically. Like plush seats/headliner/carpet absorb lots of sound vs' a truck with some of the seats removed and mostly plastic or metal inside.
Check out a house when you move out the furnature. You talk like normal and it sounds like you are yelling compaired to how it was with the furnature.
Also moving a sub from one side of the room may have less dead spots (where sound gets cancelled) compared to another spot.
Just somthing to think about. You could move what you've already got into a different spot or remove some seats and gain lots of volume.
Again, while some people swap out a sub and a box and one works tons better than the other, they think it's always just the BRAND of the sub or box. It could have just been how it worked with YOUR set up.
It could be the other way around in another vehicle.
I've swapped my old stuff into something else and vise versa, and it sometimes works out better.
I'm just bringing that stuff up because lots of people just bring up one brand was better than another (While that is true in certain cases...), etc when some has to do with how it worked in YOUR set up.

Message: Werd to the JL thing, they are NOt impressive.
Go get an Adire Brahma, RE XXX, or an Acended Audio Avalanche and call me in the morning...thats if your head didn't explode.
Those 3 I've just named rapes the JL's.....And they cost a whole lot less.

Message: I would...
Maybe i just installed mine correctly, and was paranoid about any rattling in the truck. Trust me though...my 1 8" Kicker L7 sounds just as good as my friends two 10" Extant's. He's jealous because he paid nearly 4X the money for the sound.
Also...spending crazy money on subs is kinda silly. I never understood why someone would spend $2000 when it couldve gone to something up under the hood. I got all my audio equipment offline for $500. I did have a few things donated to me from friends though, haha.
Also, Alpine and JL are way overated. I would never buy them, because they are expensive because of the name. My Pioneer 4 ways sound MUCH better than my Alpine Type S's, and the Pioneers were more than half the cost.

Message: All of my stuff has been installed professionaly, :o\ But then again, an 8" sub will have better SQ than any 15" sub out there, I geuss it's all about preference. Now, I NEVER said a Solo didnt bump, because mine did, put the ouchies on my ears, lol. Just farted too much.
And i totaly agree of alpine and JL being over rated, Alpine only makes good decks. The only mainstream brand I'm impressed with is Memphis, my components rock.

Message: ok Dip! try your research again. JL does make a 15w6. try lookin in the discontinued file.http://www.jlaudio.com/subwoofers/discontinued.html shut your mouth, I'll blow your ass outa the water in SQ any day of the week and I can still pull off more than decent spl. Anyone who isn't satisfied with their JL has bought the wrong model for their set up, their box is too big or the don't know how to bridge or jump their wires like a you are supposed to. try using all the voice coils. just because your amp is 1 ohm stable doesn't mean you should try it. I'll hook all those other brands up to more than their rms and they will be shot in 6 months. I know I've tried them. Alumapro boasts they are just like JL but better...I don't see them bringing in any trophies at IASCA world finals. I know, I was there. The only brand I will take over JL is OZ Audio. but neither me nor you or even those rappers can afford those. The money is worth JL.
