Subject: 2005 quad cab subs IP: Logged
Message: OK, I've scanned the web and searched this forum with no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions where to put 1 or 2 subs in a 2005 quad cab (without ripping out the rear seats.
I thought about mounting them firing up from the floor under the rear seats, but as it appears, there is only about 2 1/2" room between the raised floor and the rear seats when in the down position. Does anyone know what is under the carpet in that raised floor area? I have only had the truck for two days and I haven't gotten the nerve up yet to rip the carpet back.

Message: Well, not sure about 2005 vs. the others like mine. But I've done it and so have a few others.
I had to modify my rear seats a bit, but they LOOK stock. Click on my banner below and check them out.

Message: I built a custom box to replace my center console. I was able to wrap it with the original fabric when it was done and nobody even knew it was there. Go to my web page and leave me an email address and I will send you pictures of it if you are interested. I also built a system in my F-150 Supercrew Cab which is what is displayed on the web page now.

Message: I know I'm abit late, but I just got my 05 quad and was wondering the same thing. If you look under the 4x2's, you will see a huge cavity under the rear seats. I was thinking of cutting the floor under the rear seats and dropping in a box to house an amp and subs. You have 12 inches easy... maybe more.

Message: I have 2 10" kicker comps behind my rear seat in my quad cab and the seats fit perfectly and comfortably, they look stock. the only thing i lost was the functionality to raise the bigger of the two. Here is my setup. I took out the 60 part of the 60/40 rear bench seat and built a box for behind the seat. (you have 24in in lenght and 5.5 in depth. you can use subs with up to 4.5 in mounting depth but the need to be made to work with less thant 1 cu feet of air. i mounted the amp behind the other seat and it is totally stealth. sound is amazing when powered by my alpine head unit. 2 10s at 1000watts

Message: you can easily fiberglass the floor use 1/2" mdf for a top board and mount 2 10' sub under the seats. Or if you have the center seat with armrest console up front, remove it and build a 10" down firing rear ported enclosure. If you have questions feel free to ask. I build enclosure like this everyday for a living.
