Subject: 2 12" subs in ext cab dak IP: Logged
Message: I have two 12" RF's that I would like to have installed in a custom box that would replace the tool tray in my 00' Dak Ext. Cab. I have contacted soundoffaudio in FL but they have been unable to build such a box. Does anybody have a recommendation as to where I can get something like this built? thanks.

Message: Just do what I did and build it yourself. Take out the back seat
and the tray underneath it and go from there. I had a bunch of
scrap 3/4" plywood lying around that I used just to experiment.
It came out design wise better than I thought so I haven't gotten
around to building the mdf one yet :). I just measured, cut
measured, cut. measured and cut. I built it as it sat in the back
of my truck. You just have to remember that the larger the
speaker the more volume you need so you will have to go
higher. 3" is about the limit if you want the seat belt locks to be
accessable. The rear seats are going to be mounted directly to
the hinged lid. I also put holes in the front to allow movementof
air created by the subs. In the middle I have a space where my
RF 800a2 is located. It's all underneath the seat and there NO
wires showing at all. It sounds intimidating, but once you get
going it's kind of fun. If you need some direction let me know.

Message: Hi. I have changed the design a little on paper, but this is the basic
idea. Not much different than the Thunderforms in concept.
REMEMBER THIS ONE IS ONLY AN EXPERIMENT. The final one is
going to be made of MDF, carpeted and the height will be a little
taller.

Message: Does you back seat still fit like it did before? Your box looks taller than what my seat would fit.
