Im asking a question that has been debated over this forum quite a bit, but without a straight answer. I have a "new" HU (JVC), which is awesome by the way, which puts out 50x4 max. I have Polk audio db6500 components in the doors, which are the best speakers on the market for the price, flat out. I do not, however have an aftermarket amp to power these components which have a rms of 100watts each. I was wondering if i should keep the wired through the stock infinity crap amp, bypass, or i will really should invest in a quality amp. I have run through the stock amp for about a half a year and not had any problems yet, but they don't seem to get much louder after about 50% power from my amp. What should i do.
Thanks!
by the way, to see me truck its at http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/313468

get a quality aftermarket amp. i have an older JVC HU(cd player is great, tuner is crap) w/ polk db675's and a pioneer 300watt amp.

the HU probably only puts out a usable 12-15 watts per channel. you don't have enough power for your speakers.

is that peak rms 100? i would check the continous rating on the speakers and find an amp with about a 15-20% higher CONTINUOUS rms rating.

an amp that goes into clipping will fry speakers
