Subject: sub gets louder after about 5 minutes..?
IP: Logged

Okay, this is a new one for me. I have a separate MTX amp and Diamond Audio sub. I turn my stereo on, and I can barely tell if the sub is working. I pulled out the rear seat in my quad, and the amp power light is on and all the connections are perfect. I can tell that the sub is working, but as if the volume is very low. After a song or two, all of the sudden the sub volume comes back up to where it should be, and never quiets down again. It was working perfectly for over a year. It doesn't seem like a short since it works fine after the first few minutes. I don't know what else it could be. Is my amp going bad? Anyone experience something similar? Thanks for any help.

I had that problem with a brand of subs whom I will not name. The speaker works fine for a long while then it stops. You put your ear to the sub and hear stuff butt not much, then you hit a bump or something will happen and it will play just fine again. Try pulling the speaker out of the box and play some music. If now sound, touch the connector wires goin into the voice coils. I think that might be yer problem, and if that's so, send it in to get fixed, try to fix it yerself or toss it.
