Message: Mine's a 2003 QC, I think it's the same as the 2001 interior. The rear mids and tweets were a breeze to install, the only tough part is deciding where you want the tweets.
Putting the tweets in the top of the rear doors will sound good for the back passangers, but they will be closer to your ears than the front tweeters, might make for some funny imaging. I put the rear tweets high in the back pillars. I wasn't realy concerned how the stereo sounds for back seat passangers,,, heck the kids are the only ones back there and the stereo's not loud when they are in the truck.
OH, I forgot, I ran new 14 ga wire to all of the door speakers, total pain in the azz. The wiring harness between the cab and door is a sealed harness ;-( Had to drill a hole in the harness grommet for the front doors and through a couple of sealed grommets for the back doors, not as easy and concealed as the install in my old 2000 CC.

Message: I have two sets of Focal components. I installed the rear tweeters in the front-top of the rear door. Very easy with a hole saw, but you do need to cut a hole in the door panel. As DSW said, you can run into some imaging problems this way, but I have given up on good imaging in most cars/trucks (very quiet interiors are different, but the Daks are not in this category).
Between open windows, road niose, passenger load, etc. I can't seem to make it work well. The only exceptions (IMHO) to that are if you can get the tweets to fire off of the windshield.
Instead I have gone back to "crossfiring" the 4 speaker sets. I.e. front sets are wired as normal, back sets have the R and L channels reversed.
Unless I'm sitting still in a parking lot somewhere, I tend to like this sound better in a car/truck.
