Screw the ipod when near the same money can hold over 10,000 songs easy!
It's integrated and you can change the way it works by just installing different software.
I've got the stock Windows Media Player, WinAmp, Sonique, AND Real One Plus on my system.
I like different features from each and am still finding new features on each one I never bothered to find on the players I use in my desktop.
When I buy a new CD I just stick it in and rip it down to mp3's plus it connects to my home PC's when I'm in my drive way to swap music that way.

Message: Graphite,
I checked out your site about your install. Nice work. But it's a bit much for me. I don't think I'll take it that far.
I've been seeing aftermarket head units have have an Ipod interface. I might go with something like that.

Message: Yeah, that Graphite guy is an "over-mod-achiever" :-) Does great work, but it's definitely more then what I usually want to take on.
What I did was buy an RCA-to-CDchanger adapter for my Pioneer HU. It was about $35 from Crutchfield (made by PIE.net), along with an RCA to 3.5mm headset cable. Plugged this into my Dell DJ, and listen to the tunes.
Downside to the DJ is that the controls rest in the DJ. I've heard of some ipod adapters that allow ipod control from the HU.

Message: Maybe it's a bit much but I love the sh*t out of it. It's just that some of my friends and I have always messed with computers.
One day I figured 'why the hell don't we use them in a car for a stereo plus other stuff?'
mp3 audio is bad a$$ even if you do just use an iPod. No more 80 minute CD's!
