Subject: Help with amp and sub choice
IP: Logged

Message:
Hi everybody,
I just purchased a 1999 Dodge Dakota Regular cab and I want to put an amp and sub(s) in it. I looked at some boxes that would fit behind the seat, but I am not sure what a good choice would be. I really only want maybe 400-500 rms watts in there. I have 2400 watts in my previous car trunk and I barely had it hitting over 700 rms watts. I am just looking for a decent amp and sub(s) that will hit (for rap mostly). I'm thinking a jl amp, but I don't know about the subs. I want to spend no more than around 750.00, but less would be even better. Please let me know what some good equipment would be and if anyone else has a regular cab that they have a system in let me know what you think is good.

Thank You,
Alex

Also, I have a Pioneer Deh7600mp head unit 50x4, if that matters.

Well it depends on what you would like to do but I would do a JL 500/1 (ebay new 415total) and 2 JL 10W3V2 (dual 4 ohm voice coils). the amp will push about 600 rms and the speakers are rated for 300 rms each. Wire it for a 4 ohm load and have a LOUD and clear thump.

Just my 2 cents
