Subject: soundoffaudio has quad cab sub boxes IP: Logged
Message: Go to soundoffaudio.com they sell quad cab sub boxes for our dakotas and they cost about 100 dollors once theyr shipped unless you want the mounting depth increased to six inches that will cost an xtra 20$. you get two boxes that can be made for two 10s or two 8s. I bought them and have them installed behind my back seats. I have two 10 inch infinites with an audiobahn high exursion grill guard. Its hard two get the boxes in the back with the xtra inch and a half of grill guard but easy without the grill guard. once the boxes are in u cant fold up the seats any more but who cares u got two tens.
This is my set up
The two boxes with mounting depth increased to six inches
Two ten inch infinites
And a audiobahn A4002t amp under the drivers seat
the system is hidden and it nocks.

Message: Cool. I spent about $15 for mine at a flea market :P But that was luck.
Like I've said before though, I've had to move my seats forward a little. But there's no other way to get some high performance 10's into a box shallow enough to fit behind the seats without mods. Maybe some cheap 10's would fit in a shallow box, but not a Rockford Fosgate P2 or anyother high end sub with lots of excursion.
It's still cool that people make boxes to fit behind the seats. it sucks to have a sub laying in the floor or console.

Message: they also have specs on the box if you want to build it yourself or have your local shop build the box. I you build the box and build it to the specs of your 60-40 rear seat you should be able to fit thre ten two behind the 60 one behind the 40

Message: Hmm... Yeah it DOES look like TWO 10's could fit in that box there. But not enough air space for THAT RF Sub that I have. it needs .75 cu ft sealed.
I'd have to re measure a little to see if possible. I do have two 2x4's screwed in THAT box to reduce it's air space down from 1.0 to .75 cu ft. There's also enough room to install a box a few inches wider. Maybe I COULD get close to 1.5 cu ft in that one side.
Holy sh*t man. I can't imagine going from one sub to three! I wanted to go to TWO subs. Never thought of THREE!

Message: Yeh i would have three but i dont have the
money to do that big of a project. Then it
would be hard to find a place to put an amp
and an amp to power three subs. You could
go with audiobahn thier subs dont requir a lot
of air space.

Message: 3 subs would make it "not as simple" to wire to one amp.
I think two RF P2's will be great.
When I do it, I'll post some more pics.
But I have been totally slacking on my mods. Got to pay a few other things off so i am behind my "schedule" for my planned mods :(
I haven't even permenantly installed my PC audio system yet how I want it. It's still just wired up kind of sh*tty behind my seat as shown.
But it's still working :)

Message: Since when has a P2 been a high-end sub?
Don't get me wrong, they are great for the money.
I find it impossible to get real pro-sub(s) into a Dak stealth style.
