Subject: Would the stock CD deck...

...put out enough power if I don't replace it and have, say, 2 10's and a amp in my truck? I haven't done anything yet and am trying to figure out exactly what I need to buy.
Thanks

The head unbits power is not important if u are going to add an amp. The amp will power the subs and you can keep the stock head unit powering the stock speakers for now..But youll want more:)

I used to have a single 10" w/ 200 watts running off the factory deck and it was pretty good but not great. If you really just want Bass then you'll be OK but just adding subs won't help with sound quality.

You should at least get aftermarket front speakers to run off the factory deck. A simple way is to get a set of 6.5" coax speakers. You should spend $75 - $150 for the pair and it'll make the system sound much better, even without an amp.

The head unit in one of the most important pieces of a system. It controls the voltage running to your amp which your amp needs usually 4 volts to run 100%(according to what type of amp u got) Your stock cd player is like 1.5 volt i think. And u will have to run a stepdown kit to make the cd player work with ur amp with just hurts u even more but u gotta do it. However i used my stock cd player with 2 solo 15's and a memphis class D-1000 amp and hit 147.8 decibels. So yes ur stock cd player will run a system , it just wont make it perform 100%. i just had a aftermarket cd player installed i mine and i would estimate i am in the low 150's now, so get a good cd player as soon as u can. Also when u do decide to get a new cd player u have a buy a special kit to make it work with ur internal amp(if u got the infinity setup) and this cost bout 80$. You can just run seperate wires instead of using a kit but thats would be a pain in the a$$. Anyway i know i wrote alot but hope it helps.
