Last night I was bumpin my sounds and my sub just shut off. I unscrewed it to check it out, took the sub out the box and a $hit load of smoke came out. Fried my damn voice coil! But the Solobaric L7 definately live a hard life. Well I've decided to screw sounds and work on performance and looks of my new Bebe. Any one wanna buy an MTX 500D & a 1 Farad Lightning cap? Both work damn good. They are just scrathed from my old set up, nothin major. The two costed me about $600 brand new, I'll sell them for $250+shipping. Aloha, Kamaka

how old is the L7 because kicker will send you a new one if it still has a warranty. even if you blew the sub up and it was your fault they will still send you a new one.

I've seen this time and time again, what you did was you didnt play it to hard. What you did was you were amp limited. You cranked it up beyond it's clipping. Once you do that, you dont really put more power into the sub, you just heat the SOB up, doing what you did. I had my buddy told me his sub blew up. He told me "dude, i was my amp is 300watts and the sub is 500watts, why'd it blow?" well the sub was 500max, but 200 cont. So he turned the amp to some crazy clipping, and fried the voice coil, poor thing...
