Subject: Pioneer Speakers IP: Logged
Message: I recently bought 4 pioneer TS-A1780R 4-way speakers. My '99 cc has the infinity sound system but EVERY speaker is blow and has a terrible vibration with bass. I installed one of the pioneer's and was COMPLETELY dissapointed. It sounded like they just didn't have anywhere near the power of the stock speaker esp with the bass. I know absolutely nothing about stereo's and speakers and even hooked the wires up in reverse just to check to make sure I hadn't hooked it up backwards. I know the pioneer speakers are 4ohms and I think I've read that you need quite a bit of power to utilize a 4ohm speaker. Any suggestions would be very helpfull! Also, if a bigger amp could solve the problem, is there any amp that would work that would mount in place of the stock amp? Thanks in advance!!

Message: I tried pioneer as well 6.5 coaxal TG something or another I dont know I paid 50 bucks a pair,,same deal no bass..bottom line stock system not so good,, amp small,, no power,, head unit signal bad,, stock speakers cheap..
From what Ive read Pioneer not known to deliver good bass anyway..
what you will end up doing is:
New amp ( you will never find one to fit in stock location) sorry bout that
New head,, Alpine seems to be good and price not so bad..
I sent my Pioneers back went with Polk Audio speakers
675 rear
6500 comp. doors
Also went with:
Alpine amp MRP 240 40x4 rms
Alpine cda-9831 head uint
I think I spent $900.00 not to bad so far compared to what you could spend...
thinking about 8inch sub and amp but we will see..
Good luck
PS: building a system gets additive :)
