Subject: Ways To Better Sound??

Ok, I've installed the 500w Sony 4 channel amp, wired up a pair of nice three way 6.5" front speakers, a pair of 6" subs in the rear doors, coming from the factory cd stereo unit. It sounds good, but thinking it could sound better. Would adding some dynamat and/or poly filler in the rear doors help the bass? Or should I go to 8" subs? Maybe adding a equalizer to adjust the sounds? It sounds good, but I'd like a little more bottom end(bass!). Suggestions???

Definately go with bigger subwoofers. It is extremely difficult to get any good bass from 6.5". If you have a quad you will have custom work to do. Anything else is pretty easy...

Bigger/more subs + power + good enclsoure = lower bass.
Dynamat won't improve bass response by itself.
As for poly fill, sounds kinda ghetto to me.
My suggestion, go with a pair of 8's (10's if you can sacrifice the room) A good enclosure for the subs is required.
Have fun.

The only way to get good low end is to add a sub in an enclosure. The 6" subs you have won't go that low, plus they are not in an enclosure, free air subs don't work that good.

Poly fill is a good idea to cancel out the door noise, keeps the noises inside the door from reflecting back through your speaker. No it's not "ghetto", but if your in a region where it rains a lot I wouldn't do the poly fill because it can get saturated with water and not dry out.

Put a 10" sub behind the rear seat, it's a pain but worth the sound. An 8 would be easier, but I think you would regret not going for a 10. I put a 12 sub enslosure that sits on the tranny bump between the front and rear seats, extends up into the arm rest storage area about 10", but it was a royal PITA to get it in there.

Yeah what DSW said.

Mod your rear seats and you can get at least one if not two 10" subs in a sealed box back there all hidden.

I recently moved my driver side rear seat forward like I did to the passenger side rear seat last year. Maybe I'll go take an updated photo and post it. There IS room to be had if you get creative.
Puting a sub in the console or floor will just invite osmeone to steal it easy as well as use room where someone could sit.
