Subject: Cable for CD Changer IP: Logged
Message: I just got a factory cd changer for my 2000 Dakota from ebay but don't have the cable to hook it up. I pulled out the radio and connected the changer using the short cable coming out of it. It works great. If the short cable was only about 10 inches longer I could mount it in the glove box with out the need for an extension cable.
I have been offered "a short Alpine changer cable around 4-6 ft which might be compatible with that changer since Alpine makes those Chrysler changers." The person who offered me this says that it is round 8pin din male-to-female (which sounds correct)and asks only that I pay shipping costs so I won't be out much money if it does not work. Does anyone know if this or any cable other than the factory cable will work?

Message: the round 8-pin should work. They're just straight through, so as long as the connector fits, the cable will do :)
