Subject: How to remove rear seats in QC

Message:
I am wanting to build a box to fit behind the rear seats, seems to be enough room there. Just wondering if anyone knows how to get the seat out of the way. The jack is stored back there and theres plenty of room on the opposite side, thanks

if it's a split seat like my '00 each section of the seat has 4 bolts. actually bolts in the front w/ studs & nuts in the back. they'll lift right out. i installed my amp behind the drivers side. when i did that i also cut down the clips on the back of the seat where it latchs to the back of the cab. so now i can just lift my seat enough to fold the back down and get to my amp without unbolting it.

You can fit two 10" subs in a sealed MDF box quite easily behind the rear seats. You just have to cut the metal holder that holds down the jack, and grind it to the floor. With a box installed you will only be able to put three bolts into each seat as you will not be able to get your hands near the other bolts where the split is. Trust me, persistence makes it happen.

I did what daddio is talking about. The funny thing is it looks like the seats were first intended to be able to unhook by the looks of how they made EXTENSIONS on them brackets. Just cut them off. All my amps and computer stuff is well hidden behind my seats but I can flip them down to access.

If you cut out the 2 inches of foam and carpet from UNDER the rear seats it's plenty of room for amps.

That's an OLD photo but shows how seats can be modded. the right rear seat is modded to be 1.5 inches forward to allow for the high performance RF P2 sub. My amps are now under each seat where I cut the foam out and my computer system is behind my left rear seat.

There's lots of room once you start looking around.
