Subject: radio removal IP: Logged
Message: To remove my stock radio/cd from my 2001 dakota, do I just need to remove the bezel surrounding the radio and ac/heat controls, or is there more to it? I'm just going to replace the bad stock unit with another factory unit.

Message: The bezel covers the entire radio/HVAC and guage area.
Remove the two lower trim panels by your knees. There are 2 screws on the bezel in the guage area, the rest are the friction clips. If you have an auto, put the steering wheel all the way down, and put the gear selector down to the "1" (all the way down. Then work the bezel off carefully or you'll scratch the sterring column trim.
Don't forget to disconnect the lights, HVAC and 4wd (if you have it) switches once the bezel is loose.
