250-500+ watts, small, with a lowpass crossover, thats within your budget. Options you may consider getting: Remote level control, 50hz boost or similiar, Class D amp or one made just for subs.

I personally had a KAC-729 Kenwood amp under the driver's seat. MORE than enough power for the 2 subs, and fit fine under there. Sells for about $180.
Current mods: A MUFFLER. That's it. (For now.)
Future mods: Tonneau cover
Underdrive pulleys
Removal of clutch fan
