Message: I have a 04 QC with the Infinity option.
I would like a little more bass. Has anyone
installed a or a pair of subs without
compromising passenger space?

Message: I have found only two alternatives to installing a sub-box. Neither of which is all that great. One, the MTX box behind the drivers side rear seat, which then makes the fold option unusable for that seat. Second is a custom made box for the "hump" in the back area. Check out this site for pictures, and if you like what you see, you can order his plans. This is what I intend to do with my QC, although it limits you to a 8" sub.

Message: Yup. that or behind the rear seat like i did. But you have to move the seat forward a little to get a high performance 10 in there.
Move both seats, you get two 10's which i will do later.
You will need to tackle it with some mods.
But you still have quite a bit of room in the back seat.
I've got one sub behind the seat. Two amps and an inverter UNDER the seats. And a computer setup behind the other seat.
This summer I expect to move my computer somewhere else so I can add a second 10" RF P2 behind the other seat. It will still all be hidden.
DSW has the first console method that I've seen that looks good and fits well.

Message: Well, I don't know about simple, it wasn't the easiest box to build. Check out this link, it shows a bottom view of the box, without carpet so you can see how it's constructed.
http://www.dodgedakota.net/boards/aud/3528.html
The box isn't ported as the 12" sub would require too much air volume ported. However, drop down to a 10" sub and you would have enough air volume to port as long as the 10 didn't require over 1 cuft.
I'll have to see if I have the drawings floating around in the garage... Roughly it's 24Lx14Wx10H, but the box has a very complex shape.

Message: Nice seats in that Dak. Looks like you got equivelent to two 40 splits where I've got the 60/40 split.
Weird you mounted the battery right there in the cab. I hope it doesn't vent any gases :(
What is weird is you have TWO subs and two amps. Surely the subs are NOT 1 ohm. So how would you be running the amps at 1 ohm with only one sub per amp. I know they make SOME 2 ohm subs, but I never heard of a 1 ohm sub. Most are 4 ohm for car audio (8 ohm for home).
How many ohms are the voice colis rated at on them subs?

Message: you have to call up kicker and tell em to send you their 2 ohm subs so u can berak em down to 1 ohm, most stores carry the 4 ohm versons cause not many people run subs at 1 ohm, and the memohis are 1 ohm stable.
oh and the battery is a gel cell.
i looked for places to mount the battery i was thinking the cab but then i would have to relocate it again when i port the bed and then cut it for the bags (in due time). i can't do anything for a while cause i am deployed in iraq, but when i get back in bout a year it's on.
