Subject: wut do you think??? IP: Logged
Message: ok i think ive decided wut speakers im going to get. im thinking about going with infinity on this one. maybe replace the front speakers with the kappa 63.5i and the rear with kappa 62.5i. im thinking about puttin the kappa 63.5i in the front because it has a more powerful tweeter, but if it will sound the same as the 62.5i then i will put them in all four locations. i could put that saved money into an amp. both speakers can handle 225w max and are recommended with 2-75w RMS. wut amp would work best??? or wut specs should i look for in an amp??? maybe 400-600w max 4-channel amp??

Message: i was looking through amps at crutchfield and noticed that some of the amps were fan-cooled. im planning on mounting the amp under the passenger seat. do i really need this option. it would save me a lot of money if i didnt. ive never heard of "Profile" before. does anyone know if they make good amps?? the Profile AP1040 is just in the power range im lookin for at 80wx4 RMS. if anyone knows some good amps that arent listed at crutchfield, please let me know.

Message: if the recommended rms wattage of each speaker is 2-75w, would it sound better to have a 60wx4rms amp or a 85wx4rms amp?? i was looking at the power acoustik OV4-800 gothic series 4-ch. it puts out 85wx4rms and im guessing 200wx4 max since it looks like an 800w amp. should i go with a less powerful amp and stay in the recommended rms wattage range? also does anyone know if it would fit under the pass. seat without being seen? or at least be hiddin enough for no one to know its an amp? heres it dimensions: 14" x 11.25" x 2.25"

Message: if your amp's RMS rating is lower the the speakers RMS you can overdrive the amp to clipping. clipping = bad, blown speakers. if the speakers are rated for 75 RMS max, go with the 85 RMS amp. my 0.02.
