Subject: What to do w/ my amp

Message:
I have a '99 cc sport, bucket seats up front. I've got mtx thunderforms under the back seats. I have a MaAudio amp but no idea where to put it, it won't fit under the front seats.

I just wanted to see where other people had there amps and how they like it. Mines just sitting on the back seats right now.

Any ideas would be great, THANKS!

i have a regular cab and my amp wouldn't fit under my seats either. i have two subs in separate boxes so i mounted the amp to my back panel that goes up to the rear window. it worked out pretty good. the only problem is it's more theft prone. i haven't gone too many places with it yet cause my console and passenger seat is out of the truck and everything is out in the open right now. it looks good, but like i said a thief could notice. fortunatly if you do it right, that panel is strong enough that he wouldn't get anything without having to runoff with the entire panel. just a suggestion. good luck.

It depends on the dimensions of the amp. As Tommy said, there's room in the rear side panels, under the 6 1/2 speakers. I have my 4-channel hanging inside the drivers side panel. Of course, I had to cut some metal and make some mounting brackets. It was a pain to dial in, but I am the type that sets it once to the quality I like for the range of music I listen to, and then I don't want to touch it again.

Oh, it sounds like your subs are set, but you can also mount a 10" sub inside the same side panels. I have mine under the passenger side rear 6 1/2" speaker. I actually took the time to make a combination fiberglass and MDF enclosure behind the metal panel, to give it some reinforcement. I am content with the final outcome, but not thrilled. Due to the metal, wood and fiberglass, the shallow mounting depth, and the other plastic around there, it creates too much buzz on heavy bass for me to be thrilled, but it is acceptable. I hear more buzz from some cars as I pass them.

when i get an amp, i think im gonna try to put it under the passenger seat but im still tryin to think of other ideas. i have a cc and has anyone tried to mount it on the bottom side of the bigger tool tray lid??? i dont know if one would fit under there and if it did, then i guess it wouldnt get enough air flow but thats why im asking.

cutting all that metal and "hanging" your amps from custom brackets doesnt sound liek the best idea. i have seen this done on a few daks but i personally would cut the carpet and jack up the seats before i would start cutting the sheetmetal of my truck.
