Message: ok well i want a good sounding speaker system and ive already got a sony head unit. it puts out 52wx4. now i want to upgrade the speakers. ive got a club cab and want to spend no more than $200. i know its cheap but i only want to replace the back 2 speakers for now. wut is a good speaker thats under $100 and will give me more bass in the back. i also want a speaker that i can hook to an amp later. im planning on replacing the back 2 sometimes soon, then the front 2, then put an amp on all 4, then maybe a sub in back hooked to another amp. im talking about a couple months difference or more in between the steps. i kinda like the stock speakers and how i got them setup but i just want a little more bass in back. im really not good on the whole wattage thing and rms and all that stuff, so i dont want to buy something that doesnt work together good and sounds bad.

Message: Replacing the front speakers first would be a better plan, there what you listen to the most and would make the biggest improvement for your stereo. Plus if your replacing the back speakers you should do this at the same time your putting the subs under the seat. To replace the back speakers you practically have to rip out the entire back interior, same goes for taking out the tool tray for the subs. Anyone that has replaced the back speakers can tell you that it's a royal pain in the azz. Front speakers 15-30 minutes per door, rear speakers,,, get a 6 pack and have 4 hours of free time if you haven't gutted the back interior before.
Watch those plastic christmas tree trim clips on the back panels, they break easily and since it's cold out they will snap easier. I took all the speakers out of my 00 CC last week and broke all but 2-3 of the clips, partly because I didn't care if they broke, but it was cold out which made them brittle.

Message: thats not a worry with me. i work at a dealership and that would be where i would put them in at. if i break any clips, i can get plenty more. there are easier ways to do the rear speakers. for example, instead of removing the side panel, just push it out of the way enough for the speaker the come out. theres, the torx bolt in the seat belt, the screw behind the rear seat, and the rest is just pushclips. should only take 15-30 min each side.
but anyways.... im still looking for opinions on some rear mid-low speakers.
if my head unit puts out 52wx4 and since im probly going to hook an amp to them later (maybe 400w, 100wx4). should i look for a speaker that is around 100-120w??? i figure it will take the 52w easily, then when i hook them to an amp, it will be taking 100w??? i guess buy a speaker that can take a little more power than wut the amp can put out so it wont blow the speaker. am i at least close in the way speakers work??
