Subject: vt box question IP: Logged
Message: i have a infinity kappa sub in a vt box and a 1200W pa amp and i think i may have blown my sub. could it damage the sub if i used it with all the windows close so there would be nowhere for the air to escape, cause i think that it what done it because i done that the other day and it has sounded like crap ever since.

Message: is it in a ported box? If so, the port may have been tuned too high. At low frequencies the woofer may have unloaded and bad things happened.

Message: A vt is ported...and they make the subs hit hard even when they shouldn't making the subs life shorten when you can the sub sent in to be fixed or get a new one go sealed there better for the subs life and the bass is tighter and tighter is better...lol...:)
