Subject: Amp install help, '01 CC IP: Logged
Message: Hello,
I'm about to be installing some gear into my '01 CC and i'm seeking some help on amplifier installation.
I'm going to be purchasing two amps, one for the sub and the other for component speakers. As far as I can tell, the best place is under the front seats. Can anyone give me some tips for running the wires from the head unit and the battery? The thing that scares me the most is running the wires from the small amp to the door and rear speakers, so that s what I am most concerned about.
I'm looking at the MTX thunder 502 amp for my subs, has anyone had any experience with this amp? it looks as if its small enough to fit but I havent taken any measurements under the seats yet.
I want to do a good clean install and this will be my first. If anyone could point me to some Dak CC specific diagrams on the web or any help at all i'd much appreciate it.

Message: Take out the front seat and pull the carpet up to the front of the cab, then run all your wires underneath the carpet. I taped the wires down with duct tape to keep them organized and away from bolts and sharp edges. Cut some slits in the carpet where the amps are going to sit so your wires come up right at the amp.
Route the speaker wires from the amp to the speakers and snake the speaker wire through the wire harness boot between the cab and door, this is a pain in the azz, but can be done by using a thick wire tie as a guide through the boot.
To get the amp wire to the battery go through the fire wall wire harness rubber boot located by the steering column. I ran the amp power wires down the drivers side, RCA cables and CD changer data cable up the center hump and speaker wires down the passanger side just to make sure that there wasn't any crosstalk between the power RCA and speaker wires.
Hope this helps and good luck,,,
